We need you! It’s December, and on behalf of students and teachers, Cambridge School Volunteers is still recruiting for variety of volunteer needs for this school year. Sign up for a new volunteer orientation here. These are some of the most urgent needs that we have:
Upper School Opportunities (Grades 6–8)
After-school tutors, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, in five Learning Centers. We provide structure and training.
High School Opportunities
After-school tutors (2:45 to 3:45 p.m.), in all subjects.
After-school tutors for athletes (2:35 to 4:15 p.m.), especially in the sciences and math.
Before-school tutors (7:30 to 8:00 a.m.), in all subjects.
College and Career Mentors to help seniors with the college essay and application process, primarily on Wednesday afternoons, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Science Olympiad advisors to help students prepare for these events:
Classroom Assistants, as requested by CRLS teachers.
Elementary (K–5) School Opportunities
Literacy tutors and Publishing Center volunteers to help young students learn to read and write (Grades 1–3).
Reading Buddies volunteers read aloud weekly with young students in The Port neighborhood on Tuesdays at lunchtime (12:30–1:00).
Classroom and Library volunteers, as requested by teachers and librarians.
