Each year, Cambridge students prepare for and participate in this competition, an academic track meet with over 20 individual team events in such areas as genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, mechanical engineering, and technology. Cambridge School Volunteers is seeking people with knowledge of STEM fields to coach these two-person student teams, for about 90 minutes, one afternoon a week, from December until mid-March.
The CRLS Science Olympiad Team placed second in the state olympiad 25 years ago. The team placed at #23 in 2016, in a field of 53 schools from across Massachusetts.
