Annual Dance Party Features Remarks by CPS Chief Equity Officer Manuel Fernandez

At CSV Now! on May 12, Manuel Fernandez, chief equity officer for Cambridge Public Schools, grounded the event with remarks, stories, and examples of practicing and developing equity for students and others from his own experience, including as the first head of the Cambridge Street Upper School, beginning in 2012. He framed equity as a personal process that begins within. We are grateful to Mr. Fernandez for his contribution to the event and indeed his current leadership of the district’s Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.

CSV thanks Philips Innovation Hub for hosting the event, DJ Beshkan (Amir Abdolahi) for keeping the dance floor hopping, and to the volunteers, and community members who attended the event. We were truly moved by the sense of deep care for students that reverberated throughout the evening.

CSV Now! could not have been a success, and CSV’s work would not be going strong, without the contributions of our partner agencies and organizations and especially our event sponsors.
